Colorado climate
Colorado roofs face specific climate stressors — semi-arid with alpine zones conditions plus hail damage and wind uplift — that demand different specs than the state next door. Your assigned roofing contractor calibrates material, ventilation, and underlayment to local code and weather load.
| Metric | Colorado average | Implication for your roof |
|---|---|---|
| Average annual snowfall | 60″ | Ice-dam underlayment + ice-and-water shield required at eaves and valleys. |
| Average annual rainfall | 16″ | Standard drip-edge + sealed valleys per IRC R905. |
| Hail risk | severe | Class 4 impact-rated shingles cut insurance premiums 5–35% in Colorado. |
| Hurricane / coastal wind | No | Standard wind-rated shingles (110 mph) cover inland conditions. |
For most Colorado homes, Class 4 impact shingle and standing-seam metal are the two most-installed systems. Asphalt shingles remain the most affordable roofing option; standing-seam metal is the longest-lasting (40–70 years).
Roofing services
Roof-Master Colorado installs and repairs every residential roof system — architectural shingle re-roofs, standing-seam metal, hail/wind storm restoration, leak repair, gutter installation, and Class 4 impact-rated upgrades — same network across all 115 Colorado cities.

"I had a great experience working with Chris from Rampart! From the start, he was timely, professional, responsive, and clearly knew what he was talking about. He took the time to explain the issue, walked me through my options, and answered all my questions without any pressure. It’s not always easy to find contractors who combine skill, reliability, and professionalism, but Chris absolutely does! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing roofing work and wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again in the future."

"Rampart Roofing is a very good company. My roof and gutter installation was done on-time, neatly, and without any complications. They also handled the insurance paperwork and managed the payments in a timely way. At each step they communicated to me what to expect. I worked with Chris Bosarge who was friendly, knowledgeable, and always answered or returned my calls. I highly recommend this company - and my roof and gutters look great!"

"Simple Roofing, and specifically Stephen, we're great to work with. They covered everything, and did a fast one day job. We were able to choose the manufacture and model of roofing that was installed."

"On September 16, 2025 my wife and I signed a letter of intent to have our roof replaced due to damage done in August by a hail storm. Or is now February 24, 2026. In the 6 months we haven't heard anything from anyone after calling and leaving messages. The insurance has been paid and is ready to pay for a reputable provider of this service, but right now I don't see this company being the one to take care of them if we don't see any progress in the next few days. I can't comment on the actual work just on the poor communication, poor follow through and just the annoying portion of no one responding to any means of communication. I'm hopeful that this negative review gets the attention of someone there who can fix the problem and get it done. Otherwise I'll need to get my lawyer involved to release us from this contract and use another reputable, communicative provider who won't take 6 months to respond to a call"

"I highly recommend Simple! They came out to my mountain property and did an amazing job. They installed a hidden fastener standing seam metal roof which looks great on my house. The price was very reasonable, the quality of work was excellent, communication was great, and they came out and cleaned everything up. I will use them again in the future."

Before any contractor joins our Colorado network we pull and verify:
Our regional ops team re-verifies every contractor's documentation every 12 months. We remove any contractor who fails re-verification from the network within 30 days. Network contractors are independent businesses, not employees of RoofPros USA.

If more than 25% of your shingles show storm damage, granule loss, lifting, or curling, full replacement usually beats patch repair on lifecycle cost. Colorado insurance carriers also use this threshold — once 25% of a roof slope is damaged by a covered peril, most policies pay to replace the entire slope rather than repair it. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) treats 25% as the standard repair-vs-replace inflection point.
For a typical 2,000 sq ft (≈22-square) Colorado home with architectural shingle, plan on $13,800 including tear-off, decking inspection, ice-and-water shield, drip edge, and a manufacturer-registered warranty. Standing-seam metal runs roughly 2–3× that figure but lasts 40–70 years. Repair-only jobs run $380–$1,800 with $1,100 the average roofing-repair-project spend.
Five red flags every Colorado homeowner should watch for: (1) door-knockers showing up after a storm with no local address, (2) demands for full payment upfront — standard deposit is 25–30% with the balance due after final inspection, (3) no written, itemized estimate with named materials and brand, (4) verbal "guarantee" instead of a written manufacturer + workmanship warranty, and (5) no proof of $1M+ general liability insurance and workers compensation. Always verify the contractor in your state's online registry and the BBB before signing.
Late winter through early spring (typically February–April) is the cheapest time to schedule a Colorado roof replacement. Demand is lowest, crews have open calendars, and contractors often discount 5–15%. Avoid the August–October peak when storm-damage claims spike. Schedule before hail season starts in your area. Emergency repairs are available year-round.
Roofing licenses are issued at the city or county level — Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, and most municipalities require their own.
Given Colorado's semi-arid with alpine zones climate, the most popular choices are Class 4 impact shingle, standing-seam metal, stone-coated steel. Local building practices, hail and wind risk, and snow load all factor in — your assigned local roofing contractor recommends the right system after a free inspection.
hail damage is the leading roof issue in Colorado, followed by wind uplift and UV degradation. Hail damage is a major insurance-claim driver here — Class 4 impact shingles are widely recommended.
Most Colorado homeowners get a written, itemized quote within one business hour of submitting our online form. Your assigned roofing professional schedules an in-home inspection within 2–3 business days, and active leaks get same-day emergency tarping in major metros.
The 25% Rule in roofing serves as a guideline for both homeowners and contractors when planning roofing projects. Basically, it means that if more than 25% of your roof's surface needs repairs, it's often wiser to contemplate a full replacement rather than patchwork.
Fall is considered the best time to schedule a roofing project because it often boasts the best temperature range for roof installation. The weather has cooled off from summer highs, but it hasn't gotten too cold yet.
Roof-Master matches you with a vetted Colorado licensed contractor in your zip within minutes.
