Washington climate
Washington roofs face specific climate stressors — oceanic to semi-arid conditions plus moss + algae growth and long-term moisture exposure — that demand different specs than the state next door. Your assigned roofing contractor calibrates material, ventilation, and underlayment to local code and weather load.
| Metric | Washington average | Implication for your roof |
|---|---|---|
| Average annual snowfall | 7″ | Minimal snow load; standard synthetic underlayment is sufficient. |
| Average annual rainfall | 38″ | Standard drip-edge + sealed valleys per IRC R905. |
| Hail risk | low | Standard architectural shingle systems perform well across Washington. |
| Hurricane / coastal wind | No | Standard wind-rated shingles (110 mph) cover inland conditions. |
For most Washington homes, architectural shingle and standing-seam metal are the two most-installed systems. Asphalt shingles remain the most affordable roofing option; standing-seam metal is the longest-lasting (40–70 years).
Roofing services
Roof-Master Washington installs and repairs every residential roof system — architectural shingle re-roofs, standing-seam metal, hail/wind storm restoration, leak repair, gutter installation, and Class 4 impact-rated upgrades — same network across all 193 Washington cities.
| Service | Typical SLA | Most-requested in |
|---|---|---|
| Free roof inspection | Same week | Statewide Washington |
| Storm-damage assessment + tarp | 24–48h | Seattle, Spokane |
| Roof repair (leaks, missing shingles, flashing) | 2–3 business days | Statewide Washington |
| Full re-roof (architectural shingle) | 1–3 days on-site | Statewide Washington |
| Standing-seam metal roof installation | 3–5 days on-site | Rural / agricultural areas |
| Gutter installation + gutter-guard upgrades | 1 day | Statewide Washington |
Each service has a dedicated page with pricing, named materials (GAF Timberline HDZ, CertainTeed Landmark, Owens Corning Duration), per-service FAQs, and a licensed local pro for every Washington zip code.

"My parents and I had a fantastic experience with Michael and Absolute Roof Solutions. From start to finish, Michael was professional, responsive, and genuinely caring. He took the time to clearly explain every detail, making sure we felt confident and informed about choosing Absolute to replace our roof. His communication was excellent, and the turnaround time was impressively quick. It's rare to find a team that combines efficiency with such great customer service. I highly recommend Absolute Roof Solutions to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy roofing professionals. Thank you again Michael. It has truly been wonderful working with you. You've made the process pain free and easy!"

"My roof had a leak on a poorly installed valley. I called Absolute Roofing and spoke with Daniel. He was pleasant and quick to respond. They sent Will out to inspect the roof and he identified the issues and came up with a plan and estimate. The cost was reasonable. When the rain finally stopped Kizi came and did the work. She almost finished a day ahead of schedule. The work was beautifully done and even to my untrained eye it looked way better than before. The work was all done according to plan and as quoted with no extra unexpected costs. It has since rained heavily and no leaks. Excellent experience with Absolute Roofing in all aspects."

"Got my roof replaced last week. I was a little nervous as this was the first major update I have done on my home and I was worried it would be complicated and disruptive. But I was pleasantly surprised how easy and quick the process was. David was professional, efficient and quick to respond to my messages and provided excellent communication throughout the job. The bulk of the work was done in just 2 days and I am very happy with the final results. Thank you again to the team that worked on my home!"

"My neighbor recommended Eugene and Diamond and I owe him a nice bottle of wine for doing so. Obviously getting a new roof is at best a twice in a lifetime event that can be stressful with all the roofers and options out there. Eugene was a pleasure to deal with. Always transparent with options and updates. His crew was professional and left the workspace spotless. Most importantly the roof looks great and it was done at a reasonable price compared to the other estimates I received."

"I got several quotes for my re-roofing project and Diamond Roofing & Construction came in with the best quote. Eugene's team did an excellent job and he kept me informed of the progress throughout. Eugene's team went around the house after completion and cleaned up any leftover debris. I highly recommend Diamond Roofing & Construction."

"Extremely good work. I feel like I paid a fair price and the work is way beyond my expectations. I'm usually the guy that fixes my friends and older neighbors roof problems, but replacing a roof was too much for me. I have been planning a new roof for 3-4 years and spent the time surveying work done around where I live. Diamond Roofing did my neighbor's house which had a flat roof and I was very impressed by how they consistently overlapped the sheets correctly. Beautiful origami on a difficult roof. I called for quotes and their price came in at about the middle. I was keen to have a bunch of tiedowns on the roof after they left - more than is strictly necessary and they were happy to oblige. I opted for malarkey legacy shingles in silverwood. It is a color with higher reflectivity so keeps the house cooler in the summer since the house has no ac. I was there watching for 2-3 hours every day of their work. Great precise work on every step. Each and every fitting that pierces the roof was beautifully sealed. My old kitchen vent box was ruined so they provided one. Pictures show what a nice job they did. No pictures but they also did a perfect job cleaning up. Thanks Eugene and especially the crew. You guys are amazing and *really* know how to work."

Before any contractor joins our Washington network we pull and verify:
Our regional ops team re-verifies every contractor's documentation every 12 months. We remove any contractor who fails re-verification from the network within 30 days. Network contractors are independent businesses, not employees of RoofPros USA.

If more than 25% of your shingles show storm damage, granule loss, lifting, or curling, full replacement usually beats patch repair on lifecycle cost. Washington insurance carriers also use this threshold — once 25% of a roof slope is damaged by a covered peril, most policies pay to replace the entire slope rather than repair it. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) treats 25% as the standard repair-vs-replace inflection point.
For a typical 2,000 sq ft (≈22-square) Washington home with architectural shingle, plan on $11,400 including tear-off, decking inspection, ice-and-water shield, drip edge, and a manufacturer-registered warranty. Standing-seam metal runs roughly 2–3× that figure but lasts 40–70 years. Repair-only jobs run $380–$1,800 with $1,100 the average roofing-repair-project spend.
Five red flags every Washington homeowner should watch for: (1) door-knockers showing up after a storm with no local address, (2) demands for full payment upfront — standard deposit is 25–30% with the balance due after final inspection, (3) no written, itemized estimate with named materials and brand, (4) verbal "guarantee" instead of a written manufacturer + workmanship warranty, and (5) no proof of $1M+ general liability insurance and workers compensation. Always verify the contractor in your state's online registry and the BBB before signing.
Late winter through early spring (typically February–April) is the cheapest time to schedule a Washington roof replacement. Demand is lowest, crews have open calendars, and contractors often discount 5–15%. Avoid the August–October peak when storm-damage claims spike. Emergency repairs are available year-round.
Washington requires registration with the Department of Labor and Industries for any contractor performing work.
Given Washington's oceanic to semi-arid climate, the most popular choices are architectural shingle, standing-seam metal, cedar shake. Local building practices, hail and wind risk, and snow load all factor in — your assigned local roofing contractor recommends the right system after a free inspection.
moss + algae growth is the leading roof issue in Washington, followed by long-term moisture exposure and wind uplift (coast).
Most Washington homeowners get a written, itemized quote within one business hour of submitting our online form. Your assigned roofing professional schedules an in-home inspection within 2–3 business days, and active leaks get same-day emergency tarping in major metros.
Roof-Master matches you with a vetted Washington licensed contractor in your zip within minutes.
