Wyoming climate
Wyoming roofs face specific climate stressors — semi-arid to alpine conditions plus wind uplift and snow load — that demand different specs than the state next door. Your assigned roofing contractor calibrates material, ventilation, and underlayment to local code and weather load.
| Metric | Wyoming average | Implication for your roof |
|---|---|---|
| Average annual snowfall | 60″ | Ice-dam underlayment + ice-and-water shield required at eaves and valleys. |
| Average annual rainfall | 13″ | Standard drip-edge + sealed valleys per IRC R905. |
| Hail risk | high | Class 4 impact-rated shingles qualify for hail-discount endorsements in Wyoming. |
| Hurricane / coastal wind | No | Standard wind-rated shingles (110 mph) cover inland conditions. |
For most Wyoming homes, standing-seam metal and Class 4 impact shingle are the two most-installed systems. Asphalt shingles remain the most affordable roofing option; standing-seam metal is the longest-lasting (40–70 years).
Roofing services
Roof-Master Wyoming installs and repairs every residential roof system — architectural shingle re-roofs, standing-seam metal, hail/wind storm restoration, leak repair, gutter installation, and Class 4 impact-rated upgrades — same network across all 17 Wyoming cities.

"I noticed my new shingles were coming apart. I couldn’t understand because it had only been a few years since I got them. Logan recognized the problem right away. He told me about a manufacturer problem and helped me understand how to file a claim. He didn’t do the original work so he was under no obligation to help me. Fast forward, I had Roof Utah replace my faulty roof. I was surprised how quickly they got things done. I was amazed and impressed with the quality of their work. Logan was attentive throughout but the crew was great. I’ve recommended Roof Utah to several people since and they have all been happy. Great owner, great company!"

"I had been looking to replace my roof for a long time and was getting hounded by those insurance chasing roof companies. After those fell through, I had enough and found Roof Utah. Roof Utah is a great local company with local reps that were communicative and helpful. The price was very reasonable and less than one of the other companies I received a quote from. The team took two days. They were quick, efficient, and did a great job cleaning up and ensuring -- as best they could -- that there we no nails on the ground when they left. 10/10. Would absolutely recommend."

"Logan and his crew did a great job on our new roof! It only took them 2 days and they cleaned up at various times throughout the day with one last thorough walkthrough after they were done. Our roof looks great and we couldn't be happier! Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to get their roof redone! Very reasonably priced!"

"We engaged CCX Roofing for our home build in Tetonia, Idaho. After reviewing multiple bids, CCX came in right where we needed to be financially, and we really enjoyed our early conversations with Brock on the sales side. He was responsive, personable, and easy to work with during the initial stages. We gave the go-ahead in early August 2025 with the understanding that the roof would be completed sometime in October. Early conversations gave us the impression that our project would move fairly quickly. Because our home has a 100% metal roof, CCX coordinated with Teton Steel for measurements and materials. Teton Steel ended up being a major delay, pushing the project back by well over a month before the metal order could even be placed. To CCX’s credit, it felt like they were actively pushing Teton Steel to get things moving and to ensure measurements and orders were correct. That said, I was originally under the impression that underlayment would begin fairly soon after signing the agreement. In reality, underlayment did not start until early October due to CCX finishing other projects. While it was ultimately completed, I do wish there had been clearer communication upfront that this phase might be delayed by several months. The first metal was finally delivered the last week of October, and the quality looked great. Although the material took much longer to arrive than expected, we were fortunate to still have workable weather. Around this time, it was mentioned that the roof might not be completed before winter, which was concerning given that when I signed the agreement in August, I specifically asked if the roof would be completed that year and was told yes. Between the delays with Teton Steel and CCX’s project backlog, the install timeline extended much longer than anticipated. Metal installation began on October 28, 2025. There was snow that morning, and the crew spent significant time clearing the roof before starting. The metal crew finished around November 15, and they were truly the standout part of our experience. They arrived at sunrise, worked until dark, were hardworking, professional, and went above and beyond. I interacted with them often and even brought them lunch. They worked incredibly hard to get our project done, and they deserve real recognition—they were by far the stars of the company. During final inspections, there were a few minor issues, all of which were handled efficiently and professionally. A few weeks later, once the rain started, we noticed a leak in the great room near the fireplace. The chimney was scheduled to be stoned later, but our expectation was that the roofing underlayment and metal work around the base of the chimney would already be properly sealed. Getting someone out to inspect the issue required consistent follow-up. Weather and snow were cited as concerns for accessing the roof, which is understandable, but given the size of our project and an active leak, I had hoped for a faster response. I also requested twice that Cody, the owner, call me (communicated through Brock with confirmation), but I never received a call. Ultimately, through coordination between CCX and our general contractor, it was determined that the stone contractor would be responsible for sealing the chimney area. Overall, we enjoyed working with many people at CCX and appreciated the quality of the metal install and the effort of the crew. However, communication around scheduling, timelines, and follow-up could have been clearer and more proactive, especially when issues arose. I plan to update this review after a full year, once we’ve experienced all four seasons with the roof."

"Alex Odishoo is such a pleasure to work with, as are the other staff at CCX! Special thanks to this team for the work they did on my Delta metal roof, soffits, facia and gutters. I needed wrap around service and that is what I got. Start to finish, the entire project was timely, professional and thorough. If I needed anything, Alex was Johnny-On-The-Spot. 10/10 would recommend Alex and the team at CCX for your next big investment."

"Alex Odishoo was great to work with. We had a great experience with this roofing company from start to finish. They were incredibly responsive, got us scheduled quickly, and completed the job faster than we expected. We had a few specific concerns going into the project, and they took the time to listen and address each one thoroughly. Everything we pointed out was fixed properly, and they made sure we were satisfied before wrapping up. Professional, efficient, and easy to work with — we would definitely recommend them to anyone needing roofing work done!"

If more than 25% of your shingles show storm damage, granule loss, lifting, or curling, full replacement usually beats patch repair on lifecycle cost. Wyoming insurance carriers also use this threshold — once 25% of a roof slope is damaged by a covered peril, most policies pay to replace the entire slope rather than repair it. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) treats 25% as the standard repair-vs-replace inflection point.
For a typical 2,000 sq ft (≈22-square) Wyoming home with architectural shingle, plan on $12,600 including tear-off, decking inspection, ice-and-water shield, drip edge, and a manufacturer-registered warranty. Standing-seam metal runs roughly 2–3× that figure but lasts 40–70 years. Repair-only jobs run $380–$1,800 with $1,100 the average roofing-repair-project spend.
Five red flags every Wyoming homeowner should watch for: (1) door-knockers showing up after a storm with no local address, (2) demands for full payment upfront — standard deposit is 25–30% with the balance due after final inspection, (3) no written, itemized estimate with named materials and brand, (4) verbal "guarantee" instead of a written manufacturer + workmanship warranty, and (5) no proof of $1M+ general liability insurance and workers compensation. Always verify the contractor in your state's online registry and the BBB before signing.
Late winter through early spring (typically February–April) is the cheapest time to schedule a Wyoming roof replacement. Demand is lowest, crews have open calendars, and contractors often discount 5–15%. Avoid the August–October peak when storm-damage claims spike. Schedule before hail season starts in your area. Emergency repairs are available year-round.
Wyoming has no state contractor license. Cheyenne, Casper, and Laramie require local registrations.
Given Wyoming's semi-arid to alpine climate, the most popular choices are standing-seam metal, Class 4 impact shingle. Local building practices, hail and wind risk, and snow load all factor in — your assigned local roofing contractor recommends the right system after a free inspection.
wind uplift is the leading roof issue in Wyoming, followed by snow load and hail damage. Hail damage is a major insurance-claim driver here — Class 4 impact shingles are widely recommended.
Most Wyoming homeowners get a written, itemized quote within one business hour of submitting our online form. Your assigned roofing professional schedules an in-home inspection within 2–3 business days, and active leaks get same-day emergency tarping in major metros.
